Let’s be honest, there aren’t many people in the world that don’t enjoy a relaxing massage. However, when most people think of a massage, their chiropractor isn’t typically the first thought that pops into their mind. What some people don’t know is that it massage is very therapeutic and can make your experience getting adjusted much more comfortable and enjoyable overall. This is one of the many reasons that we have an in-house massage therapy team at Straight Up Chiropractic.
A Massage Can Increase the Benefits of Your Adjustment
At Straight Up Chiropractic, we always believe it is important to spend some time relaxing your muscles before you are adjusted. We do this because adjusting a “cold” muscle can be uncomfortable and we want you to have the best experience during your chiropractic visit as possible. A therapeutic massage does a lot more for your body than you may think. In fact, a therapeutic massage is known to help a patient’s adjustment last longer in many cases. This information is especially relevant for anyone seeking treatment for an accident or trauma, as massage can be used to decrease a patient’s overall recovery time.
Every Visit At Straight Up Chiro Starts With Muscle Work
At Straight Up Chiropractic, we understand how important it is for your muscular and skeletal systems to work together flawlessly as a team. This is why we believe it is vital to warm up a patient’s muscles through massage before being adjusted. The muscle work that Dr. Halsy does consists of a few minutes of manual therapy and followed by several minutes of using a Vibercusser, which is a handheld massaging device. Typically this is sufficient for most of our patients. However, some need or like more therapy prior to their adjustment. When a patient needs more than our typically pre-adjustment massage, we allow one of our licensed massage therapists to step in. They will spend up to an hour with you to make sure that your trouble areas are loose and ready for the adjustment.
Our Therapeutic Massage Is Covered By Most Insurances
What many patients don’t know is that if they have chiropractic coverage and physical therapy coverage, their health insurance will most likely pay for their therapeutic massage treatments as a form of physical therapy. Not to mention, that 90% of health insurance policies cover chiropractic care. In fact, you can receive both a massage and chiropractic care in one visit and only pay a single co-pay. This has helped many of our patients achieve a fast, successful recovery. If you are unsure of what your health insurance may cover, go ahead and give us a call! We know how confusing, and challenging health insurance can be, and we don’t mind assisting you in finding out what treatments your policy covers!
